Plan a Hen Night or Weekend Party

We are not trying to sell you a hen weekend package deal. We just remove the pain and hassle of planning a hen night. You need to know who is coming and collect cash from everyone, for a deposit or to book, so you’re not left out of pocket. Here’s how to organise a hen night:

Plan a hen weekend

Organising steps:

  • Fix the Dates. One of the first things you need to do is arrange the dates for the hen party to make sure everyone keeps it free. Fix the dates and put it to a vote.
  • Decide on Activity Ideas. Next you’ll need a few ideas of things to do, again the best way is to let people vote on their preferences. Vote on it
  • Create an Invite. Once you know what you want to do, have fixed a date and a rough idea of the cost per head, you are ready to invite everyone to the hen party and collect the money from them up individually front so you can pay for it. Create an invite and sort out the hen do

Help and advice on how to organise your Hen party night or weekend:

Do your Homework

  • Plan the hen party in advance, it can take time to organise people and book activities or venues.
  • It goes without saying but don’t plan the hen night the day before the wedding, it is best to hold it at least a couple of weeks before.
  • Think of the types of activities your group would like to do and what places they might like to visit.
  • Popular activities include a trip to a health club or spa, wine or champagne tasting, horse riding, pole dancing lessons, hiring a comedy club, or a male stripper.
  • Popular locations for hen nights in the UK are London, Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham and Brighton. If you want to go abroad consider, Dublin, Paris, New York and Barcelona.

Organising your Hen party

  • Get a list of the girls that the bride wants to be on her hen night. Does she want to invite work colleagues, and family or just friends? Make sure you have a list of all their emails and if they don’t check email regularly ask them for their mobile numbers. Alternatively you could add details of the plan to Facebook to tell your group about it.
  • It is a good idea to check with the bride what she and the others coming would like to do. Key decisions to be made early on are what type of hen party she wants e.g. a daytime hen party, a hen night, a hen weekend and most importantly whether she wants to have it in the UK or abroad. The hen will also need to think about how much money her friends will be prepared to spend.
  • Think about the little details, some parties like to take along a guest book for all to sign. Do you want to arrange personalised T Shirts or other clothing and items to make your group stand out? What about games? The Mr and Mrs game is a hen night classic – but all these things will need a little bit of preparation in advance.
  • If you are thinking about having a theme and asking everyone to dress up remember to do this well in advance so people have enough time to plan their outfits. A simple way to help with this is if you volunteer to buy some accessories for the group.
  • It is always a good idea to spread out the activities, maybe have a meal in between; this can also help to ensure that you don’t get too drunk too soon.
  • If you are having a weekend, make sure that you have booked accommodation and that everyone knows where it is. If you are travelling abroad for the Hen party, you must make sure that everyone has valid passports and visas if necessary.
  • Do a Wigadoo vote if you need to sort out your friends

Sort out the Money

  • Make sure you budget properly. It is important to divide the cost of the party between all those going. Include any extras such as travel and money for the kitty on the day.
  • You may also want to share some of the costs for the hen herself across the group or club together to buy some little presents or hen night accessories for her.
  • Collect the money from everyone before you book anything, that way you will not be left out of pocket or spend your time after the day collecting money from everyone.
  • Create an invite to get everyone to confirm and collect their money

On The Day

  • Make sure you take care of the hen on the day, and ensure that you get everyone to all the activities that you have organise on time.
  • Have a great time!

What is this online event account?

The account is actually a Prepaid MasterCard® account for transactions made online or over the phone.

What does that mean?

Well, that means we generate an account for your group that comes with a MasterCard® account number (and expiry date and security code) so that you can spend the money instantly online or over the phone. As well as pooling your friends' money into one place, you get the convenience and security of MasterCard® to spend it.

How can I spend the money?

You can simply use your MasterCard® account number to pay for your event online or over the phone. Or, if you'd like to, you can also transfer money to your own bank account.
