Why do I have to specify a minimum group size?

Wigadoo asks you to tell us your minimum group size because you are asking your friends to pledge on the condition that you get enough people to make the event happen.

The deal is that your friends will pledge the amount you need but you can't collect their money unless you reach the minimum group size before the deadline that you set.

If you don't get enough people to sign up by the deadline, no money will be taken from your friends' cards and their pledge will be cancelled.

Using Wigadoo means that you get money lined up behind a plan and never need to pay upfront on behalf of the group. It also helps people to sign up earlier and groups grow faster.

How does pledging work?

Why do I need to set an amount now?

Wigadoo asks you to tell us the amount you want to collect because you are asking your friends to pledge to pay.

Pledging means that your friends are promising to pay a certain amount and giving their debit or credit card details to back up that promise.

When your friends pledge, they are saying that they promise to pay as long as you get enough people to sign up by the deadline. If you do, you can then take the money that they've promised without having to go back to them. If you don't, no money will be taken from your friends’ cards and their pledge will be cancelled.

Using Wigadoo means that you get money lined up behind a plan and never need to pay upfront on behalf of the group. It also helps people to sign up earlier and groups grow faster.

What is this online event account?

The account is actually a Prepaid MasterCard® account for transactions made online or over the phone.

What does that mean?

Well, that means we generate an account for your group that comes with a MasterCard® account number (and expiry date and security code) so that you can spend the money instantly online or over the phone. As well as pooling your friends' money into one place, you get the convenience and security of MasterCard® to spend it.

How can I spend the money?

You can simply use your MasterCard® account number to pay for your event online or over the phone. Or, if you'd like to, you can also transfer money to your own bank account.
