Help and advice with organising a skiing holiday

Before you start organising a group ski holiday there are a few questions you need to ask or bear in mind, such as which dates do we want to go, and which resort or chalet do we wish to book? Wigadoo can help you to answer these with the vote tool.

Making sure that the ski trip suits all members of the group and falls within everyone’s budget. This will help to make the trip more enjoyable and less stressful for all concerned.

As the ski group organiser you will need to think about these things:

Do your Homework

  • Which country or ski resort would my group like to visit?
  • What are the dates for the trip, when do we go and when do we return?
  • Are there different skiing ability levels in the group?
  • Are there any non-skiers in the group?
  • Is the holiday suitable for those with snowboards
  • What type of accommodation does the group want to stay in? For instance, chalet, hotel, guesthouse or apartment?
  • Does any of the group need equipment hire?
  • Does anyone require ski or snowboard lessons or tuition?
  • What is the holiday budget for the group and how much is that per person?
  • Can we get a group discount when we book our skiing trip?
  • What is the weather forecast for the upcoming season?

Booking a group ski trip can often mean that you can get a good deal on your chalet or accommodation. Operators also often give group deals on equipment, ski hire, ski passes and lessons.

When you use Wigadoo to plan your trip, you can add information about the planned trip, photos and maps for all to see, so they know exactly where they are going and where they are staying.

As well as collecting the money to book the holiday, you can also collect money from everyone to pay for lift passes, equipment hire, such as skis and boots and even kitty money for the apres-ski

Piero hired a chalet through Wigadoo

"Wigadoo made it really easy to collect money from a lot of people. Within a week I had 45 of my old uni mates signed up and their money lined up to book the villa. And the weekend was just awesome!"

What is this online event account?

The account is actually a Prepaid MasterCard® account for transactions made online or over the phone.

What does that mean?

Well, that means we generate an account for your group that comes with a MasterCard® account number (and expiry date and security code) so that you can spend the money instantly online or over the phone. As well as pooling your friends' money into one place, you get the convenience and security of MasterCard® to spend it.

How can I spend the money?

You can simply use your MasterCard® account number to pay for your event online or over the phone. Or, if you'd like to, you can also transfer money to your own bank account.
